Expats KNOW HOW
is a free listing service

Expats KNOW HOW is a service reserved to persons above the legal age in their own jurisdiction and able to read English. The use of the service implies acceptance of the present Terms and Conditions of use.

Expats are paid for their expertise and meeting time directly by the Information Seekers or Askers. Expat KNOW HOW does not process payments and does not receive compensation from neither the Expats or the Information Seekers for the listing service.

To be listed, you must be an Italian Expat or an Expats living in Italy. You must have lived abroad for at least 6 months and you believe to have valuable expertise to share. For instance, Expats can share expertise with Askers who may be interested in moving to the country they have experience of or perhaps the Information Seeker may be interested to move to Italy and looking for some specific information that the Expat living in Italy has acquired.

Expats can ask to be listed on Expats KNOW HOW by providing a brief profile of their expertise (less than 40 lines of text). See the listed Expats for example of accepted profiles. By sending their profile, Expats declare that the profile does provide a correct representation of their expertise and firsthand experience. If the profile is deemed adding value, the listing of the profile is free. Profile listing cannot be bought.

The Information Seeker or Asker can freely search the Expat profiles and contact them to ask for clarifications about their expertise. There is no obligation for the contacted Expats to reply.

Once the Information Seekers believe that they have found some Expats who can answer their questions, they will contact the selected Expats directly by using the contact information in their profile in order to: 1) check with them whether they can provide information about their questions, 2) to arrange for payment for the first call, and 3) to set up a suitable online meeting.

The first call cost must be in the range from 50 and 100 Euros and should last between 40 and 60 minutes. The exact price is to be agreed between the Expat and the Asker on the base of the accepted meeting agenda.
The Asker is therefore advised to send a list of questions or an agenda for the call to the Expat well in advance of the online meeting time.
The first call payment has to be made directly to the Expat before the first call takes place.

The Expat and the Asker will agree on how to pay for the first call by using an external payment processors of their choice (ex: Paypal, Stripe, bank draft, etc.). It is suggested to both parties to keep copy of the payment receipt as a general good administrative practice and for tax documentation.

By using the service, both the Expats and the Askers agree and are aware that Expats KNOW HOW does not and is not able to guarantee that:
a) the selected Expats may be able to answer the Asker’s questions in a satisfactory way,
b) the selected Expat profiles are a truthful representation of the Expats’ firsthand experience or knowledge. The listed profile is declared to be truthful by each Expat when submitting their profile.

Both Expats and Askers are also aware that Expat profiles are not verified by Expat KNOW HOW and that each interaction on line has to be treated with the same attention that one would use when contacting a user listed on other social network platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. in order to avoid being scammed by con artists operating on line.

Finally Expats who agree to a first call without the minimum payment or before receiving the relative payment will be blacklisted and removed from the service.
The first call payment is a proved mechanism to improve the likelihood that both the Expat and the Asker take seriously the interaction originating from the service and arrive well prepared at the online meeting. And it also partially remove the veil of anonymity provided by on line interactions that malevolent actors may use to disrupt the working of the service or to scam the honest user.

After the first call, the Expat and the Asker are free to arrange for follow up meetings as they see fit and with or without payment without any involvement from Expats KNOW HOW.

If after the first call, the Information Asker is not satisfied by the information received, they can directly ask the Expat for a partial or total refund. The Expat is at liberty to agree or not to the refund. The Expat is under no obligation from being listed on the service to provide a refund and the small first call cost is a fair compensation for the Expat’s time and attention.

Finally, Expats KNOW HOW is a free listing service that aims to facilitate the creation of new social and professional relations among Expats and Information Seekers. Expats KNOW HOW is not responsible and does not accept any responsibility for the truthfulness of Expat profiles and for any controversy or damages that might arise from the interactions between Expats and Information Seekers.
